Ever wondered if you could run around the world (or just to New York)?  Well, instead of standing around the yard waiting for the morning bell, kids (and parents) can walk, run, jog, skip, and hop around the world!

Carthay's Morning Running Club is a daily running club for grades K through 5th that provides a positive and healthy opportunity for our children to develop a daily routine of physical exercise. Regular before school exercise also helps increase attentiveness and behavior in the classroom.

Running Club starts on Monday at 7:55am, and runs daily from 7:55am - 8:10am.  All kids and parents are invited to walk, jog or run around the track. See you there!

Each lap around the track is 1/10th of a mile.  With each lap, kids collect a popsicle stick.  We'll count all of the sticks and track progress by placing footprints on the map!

There are prizes, too!

For more details, and/or if you'd like to help for a few minutes on one or more mornings, check out the attached info-sheet or contact the Running Club Chair Deborah Henderson.

Hello Carthay Families!

Attached you will find supply lists for the upcoming school year by grade level. Please take a moment to review the supply list for your child's grade. With limited resources, it is highly encouraged that parents purchase what they can from the list to ensure their child has the supplemental materials needed in the classroom. Thank you for your support!!

Not only does Carthay teach science, it is also involved in expanding the realm of scientific knowledge.

A new insect identified for the first time and discovered in Carthay's garden as part of the NHM BioSCAN project was named after Carthay!

Carthay School of Environmental Studies Magnet is the only school participating in the Natural History Museum's BioSCAN project.
