Welcome to 4th Grade - Room 18

Classroom Updates

Field Trip

4th grade has their first field trip on Friday, October 19th! We will be learning about acting, theatre, and using our body and voices to create expression at 24th Street Theatre. We will have lunch at a nearby park. Please have your child wear their yellow Carthay shirt. If you have any questions, please email me!

Parent Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the week of 11/5. Please check your student's backpack for a sign-up sheet. Please pick four options that work for you. I will do my best to accommodate your choices. Please note: 11/5, 11/7, 11/8, and 11/9 are early dismissal days. Dismissal is at 12:49.

Back To School Night

Back to School night was a huge success! It was lovely meeting all the parents. Thank you for your participation. I was so happy to share our classroom with you. If you have any questions or would like to request the powerpoint, please email me at:

We have been in school for 4 weeks now! Your students have been hard at work reviewing and learning the classroom rules and procedures for 4th grade. Last week we learned about paragraph formatting and how to edit our writing. In math, we learned about place value and how to multiply and divide by 10 in numbers with up to six digits. In science, we learned about how our body can move.

I am excited to meet you all at Back to School night on Tuesday, September 11th 5pm-7pm.

We will be utilizing Google Classroom this year. Each student received an email and password to log on to their Google Classroom account. Here, they will be able to see assignments, create new assignments, and turn in completed work. They will build their 21st-century skills, typing skills, as well as be able to access and save their assignments from anywhere.
