Wash Your Hands
Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Cover Your Sneeze or Cough
To help stop the spread of germs:
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
- Put your used tissue in a waste basket.
- If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.

Support Your Child's Learning with These Free Apps
Mr. Kearney
Hello Room 5 Families,
Even though we will not be at school together right now, I will still be in touch, to check in with you and to make sure that learning will continue. I encourage all families to work on the packet that I gave to all of my students.
For the Math workbook, please complete four lessons each week, tear them out of the workbook, and put them into your child's homework folder.
Please make sure that reading happens every day. Read to your child and let your child practice reading every day !!!
Additionally, I ask that students have the chance to spend time every day on one of the two learning apps listed to the left, under "Useful Links". These apps can be used on either a tablet, a computer, or a smart phone. Both Dreambox (accessed through Clever) and Amplify Reading are fun, engaging ways for your child to practice standards-based skills. I have given student badges for both apps to each student. I will be checking to see students' usage of these apps, and to offer assistance.
I am fortunate to teach at Carthay Environmental Studies Magnet. Under the excellent leadership of Mrs. Hall Johnson, the entire staff at Carthay has pulled together to protect and support our students and families. We see parents, guardians, and family members as partners in your child's education. My door is always open !!!
My Office Hours.

Friday: 1:45-2:30 – Kid’s peer socializing opportunity.
Note: I will use my office hours to give students tests, which are done individually, and also to hold parent conferences, during the weeks set aside for parent conferences.
I am very flexible in setting up an appointment to speak, and I will work with you, to find a time that will fit your schedule.
